    Mrs. Eileen MacDonald joined the Avon team in March of 2015 after seven years as an elementary classroom teacher. Mrs. MacDonald began her teaching career where she grew up in Connecticut, and has since worked in both the Howell Township School District and Rumson School District.
     
    In addition to her work as a classroom teacher, Mrs. MacDonald comes to Avon with a background in curriculum and instruction, with responsibilities that included district curriculum mapping and development, peer coaching, organizing academic support programs, and conducting professional development for staff and parents.
     
    Mrs. MacDonald earned a Masters in Education with Top Honors in 2014 from Monmouth University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Spanish from the University of Rhode Island in 2008.  In March of 2016, Mrs. MacDonald earned her certificate as a Principal after completing the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association NJEXCEL program for school administrators. Mrs. MacDonald has since gone on to receive her School Administrator certificate in the state of New Jersey.
