    Tools of the mind is a comprehensive and innovative curriculum that helps young children develop cognitive, social-emotional, self-regulatory, and foundational academic skills needed to succeed in school and beyond.

    Mystery Question/Morning Work

    Circle Time: weather, calendar, share the news (discuss a topic), message of the day, movement

    Math/Science: small groups for leveled work

    Play Planning: 

    -students scaffold their writing/drawings to achieve intentional make believe play

    -In the beginning parents will see teachers lines and words, but as the year goes on they will draw their own lines, letters, and words, the lines help them remember what to write

    -students write the way they hear the words first 

    -students practice making and following through with a plans

    Centers:

    -themes change (family, restaurant,

     camping, etc.)

    -students take on roles and use 

    props/language associated with those roles (donation list will be in newsletter)

     Buddy Reading/Graphics Practice

    Read Aloud: listening comprehension, story grammar, concepts of print
